1. Mixed numbers can be multiplied by first converting them to improper fractions. For example, 2 ½ can be converted to 5/2 before the multiplication process.
2. The numerator is in the top of the fractions.
The denominators is in the buttom of the fractions.
3. a) Improper fraction - convert the improper fraction to a mixed fraction/mixed number.
b) Higher term - reduce the result to lowest term.
c) Both numerator and denominator are the same - the result is equal to one (= 1) - when you have the same numerator and denominator in a fraction, it always equals 1.
