You have extremities. No, this isn't to say you have extreme views on something. In the context of this lesson, the extremities refer to body parts. The upper extremities are your two arms. This includes the shoulders on down. In some limited definitions, only the hands are seen as being part of the upper extremities. Likewise, only the feet are sometimes seen as being part of the lower extremities. More broadly, the lower extremities are your legs, including the hips.
Like any part of your body, they can be injured for any one of numerous reasons, from blasts to infections and beyond. This lesson focuses on some of the more common injuries and reasons for them with respect to upper and lower extremities.
