1.How are the elements in the periodic table arranged?
2.What are the different groups and periods in the periodic table of elements?
3.How can we classify the group of element by just looking at its valence configuration?
4.What are the difference between non-metal,metal and metalloid?

1. In the modern periodic table, the elements are listed in order of increasing atomic number.
2. A period is a horizontal row of the periodic table. There are seven periods in the periodic table, with each one beginning at the far left. A group is a vertical column of the periodic table, based on the organization of the outer shell electrons. There are a total of 18 groups.
3. The number of valence electrons that are present in an atom can be determined from the atoms electron configuration. Valence electrons are found in the orbitals associated with an atoms highest occupied energy level.
4. The main difference between metals, non-metals and metalloids is that metals show the highest degree of metallic behavior and non-metals do not show metallic behavior where as metalloids show some degree of metallic behavior.
