I have a 4.6L V8 Hyundai Genesis Sedan. Yesterday my battery died on me so I replaced it. Before the battery died, whenever I would go in reverse, it would automatically switch to the camera in the back to help with parking, however it will no longer do this now that I’ve replaced the battery. I can’t for the life of me figure out why it won’t switch to the camera. Has this happened to anyone else? How did you fix it? What would you suggest? The only thing the owners manual says about it is that it may not operate in extreme hot or extreme cold but it’s no hotter now than it’s been in the past so I don’t see how this could be the issue. It also says, “The rearview camera will activate when the back-up light is ON with the ignition switch ON and the shift lever in the R position” which is what it originally did, but it won’t now that the battery has been replaced. Why?
Update:Yes, the backup lights come on along withe everything else (brake lights, turn signals, etc.)
Check the fuse. Check camera settings in touchscreen. Check if camera is getting power and ground and outputting a signal power and signal ground when turned on.
Check the fuses for the backup camera and backup lights. Do your backup lights come on?
