Upon physical examination, the patient's vital signs showed a temperature of 36.2 °C, blood pressure of 90/60 mmHg, respiratory rate of 25 cpm, and pulse rate of 74 bpm. The patient appeared dehydrated and was complaining of abdominal pain. His skin was dry and the oral mucosa appeared dry and sticky. The abdomen was soft, but tender to palpation, with hyperactive bowel sounds heard. No evidence of hepatosplenomegaly or masses was noted.
