It is important for people to abide by the rules to maintain social harmony and political order in the country. Following rules and regulations is results in economic prosperity of the nation.
Why do we obey the Law?
Each and every day, one will notice citizens abiding to basic laws in every aspect of life. This is because law has an impact in our daily routines. These laws can be minor traffic laws like stopping at a stop sign or driving on the right side of the road. Society also must abide more serious laws like not committing a murder and running another person over with your car if they are frustrating you. The question that many sociologists and philosophers attempt to answer is “Why do we obey the law?”. Well, I believe that people obey the law for three major reasons; to avoid legal consequences, because they respect authority, and because they feel that it is morally right to do so.
Who will benefit from following the regulations, the people living in a certain state, the authorities of it, or both?
As for me, I actually think the people living in a certain state! Because regulatory requirements to protect the environment, workers, and consumers which can often lead to innovation, increased productivity, and new businesses and jobs. In the most basic sense, the benefits of rules and regulations in business are that they protect the company. By protecting employees, you protect the company from lawsuits. Following rules and regulations help employees understand what is expected of them and what will happen if they violate the rules.
