COTANGENT
==============================
As the measure of an acute angle in a right triangle increases, will the value of the cotangent of the angle increase or decrease? Explain.
Let's say that the original triangle (color red) have a referred angle of 35°, the opposite side measures 7 and the adjacent side measures 10.
Now, what if we INCREASE the measure of the referred angle (let's say about 56°) without changing the measure of the adjacent side, we need to find the opposite side.
We have created two right triangles. Now let's compare the original and the enlarged triangle:
And as you can see, the value of the cotangent of 35° is greater than the value of the cotangent of 56°, that means when we increase the measure of the acute referred angle, the value of its cotangent will DECREASE. If it is only a tangent ratio, the tangent value will increase along with the measure of the acute angle.
