Boyle's Law (show your solution)
1.) If 22.5 L of nitrogen at 78 mm Hg are compressed to 725 mm Hg at a constant temperature. What is the new volume?
2.) A gas with a volume of 4.0 L at a pressure of 205 kPa is allowed to expand to a volume of 12.0 L. What is the pressure in the container if the temperature remains constant?

1. FORMULA: P1V1 =P2V2
Given: P1 = 748 mmhg
V1 = 22.5 L
V2 = 725 mmHg
V2 = P1V1/P2 = (748x22.5)/725 = 23.2138 L
2. FORMULA: P1V1 =P2V2
Given: P1 = 205 kPa
V1 = 4.0 L
V2 = 12.0 L
P2 = P1V1/V2 = (205x4)/12 = 68.3333 kPa
