When I apply for a job and fill out an application or send a resume, can i list my nickname after my first name so they know that that's what I go by?
For example, lets say your first name is Anastasia (that's not my name just giving an example) and your nickname is Stacie. Can you put on your application/resume:
Anastasia "Stacie" Johnson?
Update:or do you put Anastasia (Stacie) Johnson? when you have to write it out

You need to complete the application and all other legal documents with your real, legal name. However, if there is a space that asks for "Known as" you can state your preferred nickname. If there is no space for it on the application, you may write your nickname below your legal name stating that you preferred to be called by that name.
I'd say don't put your nickname, they'll most likely ask you what you go by, just put stacie johnson or anastasia johnson. It'll look more professional w/ just one name.
If I were you I would put my actual name on the application. Once you are hired that is when you should let them know what name you prefer to be referred to.
put
name: anastasia
preferrred name: stacie
dont put nickname as it devalues ur resume
