I recently applied for a credit card and was not approved mostly because I said I was employed instead of a student, but since I work part time and go to school I didn't think it would really matter and of course it wouldn't give me an option to put in both. My question is, can I now re-apply for the same card and say I'm a student or will that affect me or my credit negatively?

Most companies won't allow someone to re-apply for the same card within a 60 to 90 day time period.
You might wait 2 or 3 months from the date you had applied and were denied.
If your denial was recent then you might call the card company and explain your employment and student situation and ask them to reconsider your application.
NO, you should never apply for the same credit card more than once within 3 month period. It may hurt your credit score. What you can do is apply for a credit card for students. There are many great student credit card offers and they are pretty easy to get approved as long as you are in college.
You would be entitled to a declination letter outlining the reason that you were not approved. I am not sure why they would not approve you because you work? With the declination letter, you would be entitled to a free copy of your credit report, which could give you more insight as to how you look to credit grantors.
Also, do not apply again, as it would appear as another inquiry, which would lower your credit score.
you get approved for a credit card based mainly on your credit score and your score only changes once a month so there's not really a point to do it so soon within each other
Not recommendend within six month period. You will probably be disapproved again.
