I'll be sixteen tomorrow and want to buy a car. And I need it before I go back to school. So, that said.. I have 300 dollars and need a cheap car fast. I know beggars should not be choosers.. But I want a car like a AMC Pacer, VW Microbus, Chevrolet Corvair. Anything similar would work. You probably get what I'm lookin for. I could find a cheap one of those, but I can't find any of them in Nashville or near by. What I'm tryin to ask is if anyone knows of any cars for 300 dollars or less in Nashville or close by that are bein sold and have that sort of distinctiveness to them.
I hope you understand what I'm askin. Ha, it's so hard to put it into words. Answers appreciated!

i suggest craigslist/ebay. Look and look and look it will take a long time but you might luck out. May i just suggest getting off your butt and working at a HEB or something. I mean 300 bucks ain't go buy a dirt bike man.And a corvair??? Have you forgotten check ups, tires, oil, GAS, wear and tear. 300 dollars can buy you a sporty walk with a bottle of dasani every day.

fat chance. scrap iron is bring 8 to 10 cents a pound most places. That means even a pile of junk is worth 2-300 bucks "on the scales" at the car crusher. As far as Microbuses and Pacers go, it seems everyone with an old car like this thinks they have a "classic" or "collector" car, and that people are going to willing to pay big bucks. All this is made worse by that idiot in the Whitehouse who smashed 900 000 cars in the "cash for clunkers" program last year giving rich people rebates to by new foreign cars, taking all these older cars off the market for the rest of us, and even prohibing them from being sent to salvaged, to provide affordable parts to keep our "clunkers" running. You would have cried at some of the wonderful good machines that were crushed without a chance to be used by "real people".

Corvair hasn't been made since the 60s and are very high priced now as collector cars. Your best chance is to get a used crotch rocket. Yes that is what they are really called.
Call 20-25 Mechanic and Transmission shops in your area,,,Ask them if they know of anything,,,Your work is cutout for you GOOD LUCK!
try craiglist or buy a bike
