Has anyone in the KC area had any dealings with Chad Franklin Suzuki? Have you participated in any of their "special offers" or "test market" type stuff? I have, and I'm not sure if I'm being taken. Everything seems a bit shady and I just want opinions and experiences, good or bad, in dealing with them. Thank you.
Update:Oh and do you happen to have the financing guy's e-mail address? I had it, but lost it, and want to get whatever he has to say in writing in case legal action is necessary. Thank you.

I have and I'm currently trying to get some resolution. What has your issue been? I had every assurance that the sales manager would stand behind the deal, but now he "no longer works there." I have been somewhat confused by their math... I was told "6 months of gas, and 6 months at $43 per month payments, and we'll re-do the deal with a 2008, for a full year, when the 2007s are gone." What I got was, $400 for gas (that doesn't go far at 15/16 mpg on the XL-7 I bought), and 1 1/2 months worth of the difference between my payment and $43. I also paid full sticker price, and only got $2000 for my trade-in which should have been worth maybe $4000-$5000 according to Kelly Blue Book trade-in value. So anyway... I called the finance guy, and he said he'd have to "pull my file back from corporate" to look at it, and that would take a week, and then he had to "talk to the bosses" and have them review it. I asked what there was to "review" - my payment of x, minus $43 - call it y, times 6, plus $400, is way more than what I received. He said yes, probably, and he'd get back to me. I received another payment and a half, approximately. He said they only paid me for 3 months instead of 6 months, and that my payment didn't start for 45 days so that was one and a half payments they paid. So they owed another 3 months. I got another month and a half worth. So now, by my estimation, they still owe me 3 times y. I am going to try to get ahold of Brian Pennelman (sp?) the GM, since the "man of my word" sales manager is no longer there.
When I went to check out the deal, I went with a friend who heard about the offer and wanted to see about it. I didn't plan to buy a car, but paying $43 per month for the next 18 months sounded like a deal too good to pass up. It would get me out of my old car, and into a new car, and help us rebuild our credit (we recently finished a Chapter 13, that we filed after getting underwater from helping bail out several family members). If I had known I might be getting stuck with paying the full amount of a $700+ payment I would not have done the deal. My wife was very uneasy about it, but we got assurances from the sales manager that the deal was above board and there was nothing to worry about.
If I don't get satisfactory resolution on this soon, I will be looking into whether I have legal grounds to pursue it, or whether one of the local "investigative" news channels is interested. It was a big enough promotion that they very well may be interested, and that might lead to a class action suit.
- I bought it August 9. The finance guy called me and said he's going to look into it (again - he's getting the paperwork from corporate). I don't have his email, I just call. Apparently Brian P is out until Tuesday... But Scott the finance guy says they should have paid 4 1/2 months. I'm not sure how that equals 6 months at $43/month. We'll see how that goes. Oh - and "Joe Friday" was my salesman. He's been begging me to give him a 10 across the board on the survey, I have 2 surveys and I'm holding them to see how this all turns out. He's a nice enough guy, but I felt like I got rushed through the whole thing so quickly...
If you watch the ad on the net, it says $43/month, and they "pay the gas." Not, they pay you some money towards gas, but they "pay the gas." So a token amount doesn't really meet that, IMO. If I drive 6000 miles in 6 months, getting 15 mpg like I do, that's 400 gallons of gas. Where can I get 400 gallons of gas for $400? Cause I will surely shop there for gas.
I'd be interested to find out more about this too as my husband and I were thinking of checking out this deal. Just seems to good to be true. Did you get the information in writing?
