to jot down :
the lecturer says: "you must jot down the main points" [present]
so...
past tense - we carefully jotted them down
Yes, I told you - we have jotted them all down [perfect]
just the same as we had jotted them down the previous week [pluperfect]
and in next week's lecture, we will jot them down again [future]
I would use "jotted" as in, he jotted down the directions. Or, if you must, I did jot down the number.
Yes: "I jot down the answer and walked away." or "He jot down the answer and walked away."
