Water density changes with the changing temperature acting on it. The higher the temperature, the lesser the density in which water density is inversely proportional to temperature.
When the water particle heated up, the water particle increases its kinetic energy and thereby increasing its movement and try to space out between each other occupying bigger volume making its density lesser. The higher the heat applied the more the energy being absorbed in the water particle and the more it space out.
