Answer:
1. What is the difference between the characters of Juan Crisostomo Ibarra and Simon in terms of country’s attainment of independence from the Spanish rule ?
Juan Crisostomo's plan was to build a school for the youth so that they will be educated. He believes that education is the key to success and that the youth is the future of our country. Through quality education, they will be enlightened about current events and love of country.
On the other hand, Simon believed that attainment of independence can only be attained through arm struggle and plotting war against the Spanish rule.
2. "There are no tyrants where there are no slaves.”
This means that if we will not allow ourselves to be colonized by anyone, especially by foreigner in our on native land, then there will be no tyranny. If we continue to be a slave by their oppressive and deceptive rule, then tyranny will go on forever. So we should learn how to fight by being critical about corruption , unjust practices, violation against human rights and many more. We can do this through voicing out our sentiments through social media, articles. Tyranny exists when we allow to do it. We should not allow ourselves to be perceived as second class citizens or human beings, because we are unique in our own ways and identity.
