Activity 1.1. Observing Movement of Muscles
Title of Activity: Move it your way.
Safety Tip: Do not overstretch your muscles
Objective:
1. Describe how muscles work.
2. Do stretching.
3. Observe muscles when stretched..
Materials: mat/ exercise mat
Procedure:
1. Stretch your arm and feel the muscle in your upper arm. Observe what
happens to the muscle in your upper arm when relaxed. Record your
observation in the observation table.
2. Bend your arm. Feel again the muscle in the upper arm. Observe what
happens to the muscles when they contract (tighten or shorten). Record your
observation.
3. Repeat step 1 and 2. This time use your muscles in your lower leg.

1. What happened to your muscles in your upper arm and lower leg when they
were relaxed?
