MARCOS, The Worst President to Exist.
According to Britannica, Martial Law was implemented to defend the Filipinos from the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Yes, many benefited from it but let us not forget those who were killed, tortured, and salvaged because they opposed the government.
Under Martial Law, urban crimes were reduced, unregistered firearms were collected, and communist insurgency were surpressed in some areas. So basically naging peaceful ang pamumuhay sa Pilipinas, pero not to those journalists, activists, etc. I would definitely say na effective ang pagiimplement ng Martial Law nung una.
But saying that Marcos is a hero is not it. Yes, marami siyang nagawang projects and infrastructures but we cannot forget the fact that Human Rights were violated during his administration, idagdag mo pa yung sangkatutak na utang at pera na naibulsa.
During his first term, I would say the economic performance of the country was truly significant. Pero sa ikalawang termino, I am not convinced na ang economic performance is as high as it is.
The Marcos era was a period of economic highs and lows. Therefore, I cannot conclude that as a Golden Era. Try to find out what is the vague definition of golden supremacy. It is not about the highways, railways, buildings, and institutionalized projects. It is all about the welfare of the public.
If I am not mistaken, Magsaysay's era was the most prominent and considered as the 'Golden Years' of the Philippines. Not this high level of kleptocracy and gross human rights violation. Beautification of the institution is not just the indicating factor alone of a prosperous country.
f the main purpose of Martial Law is to maintain and at least diminish the forces of CPP-NPA, Bakit pinatatahimik ang boses ng mga tao? Why?
If people have to die for progress it is not progress. Posibleng posible na magkaroon tayo ng Presidente that will bring us progress without human injustice & death.
We don’t have to choose between a shi**y economy and human life vs Human injustice & progress.
A nation should not be built off the backs of its people rather WITH and FOR its people. No one should have to be murdered in the process for a nation to progress. Dissent does not equate to terrorism.
