4x + y = 42
3x - 2y = 15
Eliminate x
(4x + y = 42)3
(3x - 2y = 15)4
12x + 3y = 126
12x - 8y = 60

y = 66/11
y = 6
4x + y = 42
4x + 6 = 42
4x = 42 - 6
4x = 36
x = 36/4
x = 9
Checking:
4x + y = 42
4(9) + 6 = 42
36 + 6 = 42
42 = 42 ; ok
3x - 2y = 15
3(9) - 2(6) = 15
27 - 12 = 15
15 = 15 ; ok
