Answer:
Asnwer = 26
Solution:
25 - 4 x (2x3) + (5)²
Under GEMDAS or PEMDAS Rule:
G = Grouping or P = Parenthesis should be solved first,
so,
we do the operation inside the grouping/parenthesis first, which is
(2x3) = 6
so our resulting expression will now be:
25 - 4 x 6 + (5)²
next rule is E, or the Exponents
so we do the 5² = (5)(5) = 25
so our resulting expression will now be:
25 - 4 x 6 + 25
Now we do the MD rule, which is Multiplication/Division rule
so we do the 4x6 = 24
so our resulting expression will now be:
25 - 24 + 25
Finally we use the AS rule, Addition/Subtraction
so we can do any order we like here, remember the ASSOCIATIVE PROPERTY OF ADDITION, the arrangement of numbers will not change the result.
so we do it straight forward for easier method:
25 - 24 + 25 = 1 + 25 = 26
so the final answer is 26.
FUN FACTS: Different countries have different name conventions for this order of operations rule, like PEMDAS, GEMDAS, BEDMAS, BODMAS. But do they all follow the same rule? It has to be a big YES, because if not, then our answers will be different across nations and that is mathematically incorrect.
* don't be an obvious copycat, always double check my answers for errors or carelessness.
I have 2 rules:
Rule #1: If you think I am wrong, you're mistaken, I am not wrong, I am only careless. Therefore I am not a robot :)
Rule#2: If our answers are the same, we are either both correct or wrong. But see rule 1 above. Therefore I am not wrong. :)
