Just compare the 3. I've played and quit Runescape about 2 or 3 times. But I've never played Guild Wars. I'm playing Project Torque right now but I might quit. Because I'm bored of it. It's a nice game but I just get bored easily. I need an addicting game and Project Torque isn't addicting since it's a racing game.
What I Find Addicting In Game:
1. A Big Game.
Just a nice big cozy game. Big community and endless stuff to do.
2. Fighting
The PVP system should be nice. I know RS doesn't have one but GW has one. How is it?
3. Website
Nice, organized forums.

Runescape does have PvP, it just isnt as good as it used to.
People say it doesnthave PvP because the old system was changed.
Runescape is your best bet.
runescape is small if your a non member, but if you become a meber the game in absolutley huge, ive been playing for 3 years now and i havent done everythinbg in the members game yet, plus there are plenty of minigames and team things to do if thats what you like.
your wrong on the count of RS having no PVP system. the old one was removed and had a new one put in. worlds 21, 26, 32, 65, 80, 109, 123, 159, 167 are now all "PVP worlds" where the entire world is a pvp zone.
runescapes website is great to, the forums are really good and clean, broken into several small subforms so you can use them really easilly.
to be honest, don't buy guild wars or any of it's expansions because they will be useless. Guild wars 2 is coming out in 2009 and guild wars has a pretty nice pvp system. But guild wars is a very instanced off game and isnt very big. Runescape is a pretty decent game as you level up try to atleast level up to 30-40
Well if you want an addicting game online, there's only 1 solution that I know which is world of warcraft.
But if I were you, I would get an xbox 360 pro or elite. Then I would buy gold membership and play halo 3 or left 4 dead online :P It will be quite an experience that shall never be forgotten :)
