I have tried numerous different ways to fix this, but the time on my Windows 10 laptop keeps changing.
Here is what I have tried:
--I have tried to sync the time to several different NTP servers including time-windows-com, time-nist-gov and all variations (i.e. time-a-g, time-a, time-a-wwv, etc.)
-- I have tried setting it to automatic - If I have only the time set to automatic and not the time zone, it changes 1 to 2 hours ahead. If I have both the time zone and the time set to automatic, it changes to anywhere from a few hours to 3 to 5 days ahead.
-- I have tried changing it manually - After a few hours, it changes back to either 1 to 2 hours ahead if I have the time zone set to auto, or 3 to 5 days ahead if I do not have the time zone set to auto.
-- I have checked the CMOS battery, it is working just fine
-- I have run about 12 different anti-virus and anti-malware scans, (which include TrendMicro Housecall, Emsisoft emergency kit, Windows Defender, IOBit anti-malware, BitDefender seite, and others)
--I have tried both refreshing Windows from the system settings and I tried completely reinstalling Windows
--I have tried system restore to a point before the clock started going crazy
I have checked Event Viewer and all it says is that the time is wrong and needs to be changed by xx number of seconds
I don' know what to do anymore and I keep having to manually set the time to access many websites and keep the computer working properly.
Please Help!!!
Is the BIOS battery needing a change, they only last 2-3 tears
Don't have your Time Zone set to automatic, my friend. Choose the actual country and/or region of the country that you're in.
