In Matthew 3:13-17, Jesus came to John the Baptist to be baptized in the River Jordan.
As Jesus was being baptized, the Heaven opened and they heard a voice saying: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." We know that this voice is the voice of God the Father. And the "Son" that He is referring to is Jesus Christ. The dove represents the Spirit, which is the third personage of the Godhead.
In this account, we learn that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit are distinct beings. They are different personages but they have one purpose making them equal and one.
