I bought a house with a dish 500 already on my roof but not hooked up. I bought a
captiveworks receiver from craigs list thats already set up i think. The question is the
dish itself has 3 connectors on it, 1 labled lnb and the other two labled 1 and 2. There
are two cables that come from the dish but they are not plugged in. Do i hook up one or
both cables and do i hook it to the nlb plug or the 1 or 2 plug. if i did hook up to nlb do
i hook directly to receiver or do i need a swich or modulator or something. Plus i jusst
hoping its allready pointed in the right direction. INfo on how to hookup would be awesome

There is no point in trying. All the Dishnetwork channels are encrypted. You need their receiver and subscription to get anything.
To make any good use of the Captiveworks receiver, you need a larger linear Ku dish, and least 30".
It will get signal, but there is no clear programming to legitimately receive FTA. Those vendors are selling pirate FTA systems, and you know that is stealing. To not be stealing, you need a 39" or more dish with Ku LNBF.
