Just playing basketball will make you fitter. No question, it’s a great fitness sport. You can just play socially, or in your backyard with friends and in weeks you’ll feel a lot fitter. That’s for those that just want to play it socially.
And if you want to be at any level that’s good, you’ll need to be in peak fitness or forget it, anything less, and you won’t even make the local A-grade club or high school grade. It’s too competitive. Cardio through the roof is needed to get that good as well as regular practice.
