I don't really know anyone who has an underbite, most people just have an overbite. Anyways, I know that if you have an overbite and unstraightened teeth you get braces. What needs to be done if you have ab ubderbite? Also, how can I get rid of my underbite (if possible)?

I do have an underbite.
Depending on the severity of an underbite, it can be corrected when a child is still growing using head gear that pulls the upper jaw forward. However, past a certain age, that's no longer an option.
If an underbite is caused just by the teeth being crooked, braces will fix the problem. However, if it's caused by the lower jaw being overgrown or an underdeveloped upper jaw or midface region, it will take braces and orthognathic surgery to correct. This involves cutting and moving either of the jaws forward or backward, depending on what method the surgeon feels is the best way to go.
In my own case, I currenty have had braces for 6 months and I'm just waiting for my teeth to be in the position they need to be so I can go set up my appointment with the oral maxillofacial surgeon.
Brush your teeth once at night and once in the morning for two minutes, then floss, then use mouthwash for 30 seconds. You can make your teeth whiter by using a combination of water and baking soda and letting it sit on your teeth for a few minutes then rinsing with water and mouthwash. Good luck.
you can still get braces for an underbite. you can correct most anything with braces. they might give you headgear if necessary, but it would have to be serious enough.
BRACES! Luck you :P
