Once it is cut, sperm can't get into the semen or out of the body. The testes will still produce sperm, but the sperm dies and is absorbed by the body. A man who has had a vasectomy still makes semen and is able to ejaculate.

After a vasectomy the testes still make sperm, but they are soaked up by the body. When a man has a vasectomy, sperm can still flow from the epididymis to the vas deferens, but becomes backed up because the vas deferens has been cut.
