Answer:
For every group ‘x’ of 3 boys and 2 girls, let’s find out how many such ‘groups’ exist.
3x + 2x = 60 (total students)
5x = 60
x = 12 (total 12 such groups)
So, the total number of boys in class = 3x = 3*12 = 36
The total number of girls in class = 2x = 2*12 = 24
To verify the answer:
36 + 24 = 60 total students
and the ratio of boys to girls = 36/24 = 3/2
