The Discovery of the Katipunan ′′
I'm sure you know Andres Bonifacio, he is the only Supreme of Katipunan and the Founder of KKK or the Supreme, Honorable Wellness of the Children of the Town or the Katipunan in other words. This is a secret fellowship established in the Philippines by Andres Bonifacio with a goal to free the country under Spanish oppressors.
But, did it also cross your mind how the Spaniards discovered the Katipunan? To those people, specially Filipinos are involved? And who really is guilty of discovering it?
In Manila, there are conversations that spread that Filipinos have secret bonding. Of course, when Filipinos join forces, there is a chance for them to defeat the oppressors, that's why the Spanish alarmed. There is still a priest named Father Mariano Gil who was also fostered so he told the High Spanish officials but laughed at him and did not believe it. But it didn't end there all.
One day, two members of Katipunan, Teodoro Patiño and Apolonio De La Cruz who were both employees of Tagalog, had a dispute. It is said that it is related to salary between the two of them because Apolonio is raising his salary while Patiño is not so they answered. Resentment caused by resentment, Patiño revealed their secret fellowship with his sister Honoria, who lives in an Agustino in Mandaluyong. Honoria was sad and afraid of her brother's situation when she knew the truth so she cried. The nun portera of refugees noticed this, Sor Teresa. When the nun found out the reason why Honoria cried, she told her to encourage her sister Patiño to confess Father Mariano Gil (the priest with a strong suspicion that the secret company of Filipinos is true).
Father Mariano Gil, the kura paroko of Tondo, Manila. On that day, 19 August 1896, Patiño confiscated Padre Gil all it knew about the Katipunan. Patiño reveals to the priest all he knows about Katipunan, including hiding stuffs of companionship, such as the selves and brand of the receipts of the Katipunan and also the daggers of the members, in the palms of Diario de Manila .. Padre Gil immediately went to the ceiling of Manila's Guardia Civil and informed the baptism of Patiño. At the Diario de Manila Department found Padre Gil, along with the Guardia Civil and the owner of the palimbagan, receipts and some evidence that proves having a Katipunan. Padre Gil showed Patiño those confiscated from the contradiction and proved them true. Because of this initiated a widespread arrest of all suspected Katipunan members.
Government started arresting employees in newspapers, like Policarpio Tarla (author of palimbagan), Braulio Rivera (don't know what job he printed), and Apolonio de la Cruz (foreman of printing ). The newspaper knows the names and homes of its employees. Almost all of them live in Tondo, and caught them on the night of 19 August 1896. The caught ones were immediately imprisoned in Bilibid; captive and incomnicated citizens are in handcuffs. The list of suspects has increased in the following days. On 30 August 1896, the military court case was transferred to and some of the Bilibid people were imprisoned in the bartolina of Fort Santiago in Intramuros. The accused have been condemned for rebellion and or treachery. Some were thrown in Jolo and Iligan in Mindanao and others were shot in Bagumbayan (now Luneta) on 11 January 1897. piñata are now known as the ' 13 martyr of Bagumbayan. ' Apolonio de la Cruz and nine companions were shot in Bagumbayan on 6 February 1897.
And because of that the Katipunan was discovered that caused the arrest and death of its members.
