Answer:
1. What are the countries of origin of the 3 given musical pieces?
— Sakura, Arirang, and Mo Li Hua are native folksongs originated from Japan, Korea and China.
2. What do you think is the message of these songs?
Sakura, Mo Li Hua, Arirang.
— • Sakura
The national flower of Japan, the cherry blossom – or Sakura, represents a time of renewal and optimism.
• Mo Li Hua-
Mo Li Hua is a Jasmine Flower in English term. The song describes the appearance of a jasmine flower, which is beautiful and white.
• Arirang
Arirang songs speak about leaving and reunion, sorrow, joy and happiness. The various categories differ according to the lyrics and melody used; the thirty-six known versions of Arirang have also undergone continuous development.
3. Do you think the melody and rhythm of the song are appropriate to deliver the message of the song? Why? Why not?
— Yes. Because of the lyrics I heard, I realized that it will deliver the message of the song. And the song Sakura is after Sakura, also known as the cherry blossom, the national flower of Japan. The full bloom of the Sakura marks the arrival of the spring which is associated with happiness and celebration. Sakura is also sung to represent Japan in international events. Mo Li Hua is a Chinese folk song named after the flower Mo Li Hua commonly known as Jasmine. It has several versions created in different regions of China. The oldest version tells us about a tradition in which the Jasmine flower is given. Arirang is a Korean folk song that is said to be about 600 years old. It is sung in both North and South Korea. In both of these nations, this song provides a sense of unity to the people even after Korea was divided into North and South Korea after the war.
