7. Kadayawan is a Davao Festival celebrated every August that serves as a thanksgiving event for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, and bounties of harvest and serenity of living. It also celebrates and gives tribute to the lumads, a collective group of indigenous people living in the city.
8. Festivals often serve to fulfill specific communal purposes, especially in regard to commemoration or thanking to the gods, goddesses or saints: they're called patronal festivals. They may also provide entertainment, which was particularly important to local communities before the advent of mass-produced entertainment.
9 and 10. I find this lesson interesting. Festivals act like stress relievers and help us balance our emotions. More positivity naturally lowers negativity. It also provides an opportunity to reduce friction and brings estranged friends and relatives together in a bond of love. Nothing brings people together like festivals do
