What is melody?
• Melody is a series of notes that can have very few pitches of notes and still be classes as a melody. A good example of this is perhaps 'One note Samba' by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Despise its name, the head of the song has only two pitches.
What is Tempo?
• Tempo means the speed at which a piece of music should be played. As with many musical terms, Italian words are used to describe different tempo of music.
What is Dynamics?
• Dynamics means how quietly or loudly a piece of music should be played. The term is also applied to the written or printed musical notation used to indicates dynamics.
What is Texture?
• Texture is how layers of sound whitin a piece of music interacts. Imagine that a piece of spaghetti is a melody line. One strand of spaghetti by itself by a single melody, as in a monophonic texture.
