COLLOID—A colloid is intermediate between a solution and a suspension. While a suspension will separate out a colloid will not.
Solution: a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances in relative amounts that can be varied continuously up to what is called the limit of solubility.
Colloid: a mixture in which one substances of microscopically dispersed insoluble particles are suspended throughout another substance.
