My chiropractor wants me to take these Progest 50 pills (for migraines). She says they are an exact replica of the progesterone our body produces. She also says they could possibly increase chances of getting pregnant, not decrease it. I am curious, then, as to why the bottle says"do not take if you are trying to get pregnant." Can these hurt my ability to get pregnant??
Progest 50 (Progestin) question - Why does it say on the bottle don't take if you're trying to get pretnant?

Because progestins make the mucus lining that covers the cervix and uterus thick and impermeable to sperm. In short, they make it harder to get pregnant.
It's very bad to be taking any kind of hormone like that if you want or intend to get pregnant. If the bottle says it, don't take them. Or don't get pregnant b/c the baby could have defects.
It is just for their protection. I am seeing a fertility Dr and he actually gives me progesterone. He says it will actually make the uterus healthier for the fertilized egg to implant.
