(4) Moreover, they can make important decisions based on the information they have read. (5) When thinking thoroughly about the information they have read, they make a decision. (6) They may either choose to analyze it logically, i.e., page-by-page or section-by-section, and establish connections between the ideas in those pages. (7) Or they get a global or a general picture or a bird's eye view of the reading materials by skimming. (8) When they use both or either of these techniques, their understanding of information read comes more easily. (9) Thus, it is important that students use both or either of these techniques to make their reading experience significant.
