I know you're supposed to keep it the same height as if you were sitting but i wanna have it really low if i could play on stage. Are there any techniques to use to learn how to play with a low strap?

Have you arms surgically extended. Don't worry about how you look, worry about how well you play. Would you rather go up onstage and play very well with your guitar at a normal height, or try to look cool and end up looking foolish because you cannot play your guitar because you have it too low?
If you just start to play the guitar then you require the most effective courses available on the market to learn how to perform this difficult instrument and the most effective is Jamorama website, here https://tr.im/mb2qs
If you are likely to learn the guitar for the first time (Or perhaps you attempted before and only could not get the "hang" of it), then Jamorama is the best course for you because every lesson has a video to accompany the rules, and after you've gone via a week of instructions, you can get and printing a fitness sheet connected with those lessons.
The video lessons demonstrate how exactly to play notes – the fundamentals of playing guitar. You'll learn how to play significant, modest, 7th, and bare chords. If you don't understand what any one of meaning, don't allow it to scare you. It's all explained in detail in the videos.
A good thing about this is after you receive these fundamentals down, the names and the technicality just float to the back ground and that you don't genuinely have to think about it a whole lot more – you are able to only play!

Everyone has to find what works for them. Some people have long fingers; mine are not long. I rest the little finger of my picking hand on the pick guard. I keep my guitar up high. I do not work well with the guitar slung low. Men with big hands can do well slung low but not me. I let my thumb rest on the center of the guitar neck<fingering hand. I can stretch to reach best with my thumb centered on the neck. Again, some people can even use their thumb to finger bass strings; but my hands are too small for this.
All you can do is practice a lot with it in that position. It may limit your playing to some extent.
Ah yes, the guitar-hanging-around-the-knees look. SO cool looking, and GUARANTEED to cause you a lifetime of carpal tunnel and tendonitis. Fun fun fun.
Just watch Jimmy Page, look at how he does it. Sloppy huh?
