The perimeter of a rectangle is 34 cm . The length of the rectangle is 3 cm more than its width
Dimension
Let
Width = x
Length = x + 3
Now
We know that
Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)
⇒ 34 = 2(x + 3 + x)
⇒ 34/2 = 2x + 3
⇒ 17 = 2x + 3
⇒ 17 - 3 = 2x
⇒ 14 = 2x
⇒ 14/2 = x
⇒ 7 = x
Hence,
Width = 7 cm
Length = x + 3 = 7 + 3 = 10 cm
