Question 1: A rocket has a mass of 1,400 kg. It is launched with an initial thrust of 30,000 N. The air resistance at launch is negligible. Calculate the weight of the rocket in newtons.
Question 2: Calculate the magnitude of the acceleration of the rocket, at the launch.

Question 1.
To find the weight of the rocket, we will just simply multiply its mass by g, which is 9.8 m/s^2.
1400 kg * 9.8 m/s^2 = 13720 kg * m/s^2
The weight of the rocket is 13720 N
Question 2.
To find the acceleration of the rocket upon launch, we will be using the formula F = ma.
F = ma
a = F / m
a = 30000 kg*m/s^2 / 1400 kg
a = 21.43 m/s^2
The acceleration of the rocket upon launch is 21.43 m/s^2
