Problem:
Two consecutive angles of a parallelogram have measure (2x + 40)⁰ and (x - 30)⁰. What is the measure of the smallest angle?
Solution:
2x + 40 + x - 30 = 180
2x + x = 180 - 40 + 30
3x = 170
x = 170/3
2x + 40
= 2(170/3) + 40
= 340/3 + 40
= 460/3
= 153.33°
x - 30
= 170/3 - 30
= 80/3
= 26.67°
What is the measure of the smallest angle?
The measure of the smallest angle is 26.67°
