be warm, friendly and concerned. speak softly and evenly, and respectfully inquire whether the visitor requires assistance. explain to the youngster that his or her safety is at risk, and that the person's behavior must cease immediately. before you speak, gather your thoughts and refrain from passing judgment.
I would report it or contact the Childhelp hotline. Or, if it is not my business, I would do nothing and remain calm. Or I would speak to the individual who is berating the child or abusing the child in a soothing tone and respectfully ask why? Abuse may impact everyone.
