Answer:
In physical science you will learn about the fundamental laws of nature. The German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe summarized it in his play “Faust part I” by making Doctor Faust say: “Zu erkennen was die Welt im Innersten zusammenhält” (“To recognize what holds this world together in its inmost core”). You will have to learn a lot of math and as well very difficult math, but if we talk about highschool it is still OK. Let’s stay on highschool level: You will learn about mechanics (moving masses), Newton’s laws, basics of thermodynamics (heat, pressure, etc.), optics (lenses, refraction, diffraction), basics of electronics and electromagnetism, oscillations and waves, very basics of atomic and nuclear physics. All of these things are the foundation of higher grade studies be it chemistry of physics - so yes it is useful.
Is it interesting? Well, ask yourself. Do you feel attracted by nature scientific problems? Do you like to read popular science journals? Or journals about technologies, or planes, or rockets? Or do you rather like other topics - literature, music, politics? It is hard to say if physical science is interesting. Some can spend days and nights with studying the deepest secrets of some atomic structure, some are bored or even repelled by even looking some scientific TV program.
