Answer:
1. The Western "do" (Thai dau), always written in Thailand as note C, sounds "re" (Western note D), and all other pitches are correspondingly one note "off." Those who write down Thai music have generally found it easier to consistently use C Major, which has no sharps and flats.
2. On 12 February 1958, the Union Bank of Burma introduced the first kyat notes, in denominations of 1, 5, 10 and 100 kyats.
