Answer:
The Ilocos and Cordillera region are known to have unique textiles. These two type of textiles may vary in terms of their design and overall characteristic. But both carry the identity of Filipinos that for the most part live in mountain areas.
Ilocos textile, in particular, is famous for its ‘Binakul’ - a process done by the Ilocanos in producing quality textiles. Furthermore, textiles that underwent the aforementioned process can be recognized easily due to its intricate design. Cordillera province textile, on the other hand, is much simpler. For the most part, women would have clothes wear that is for the most part colored in green, red or blue. While the Ilocanos prefer to have an intricate geometric design, weavers from the Cordillera province takes on a different design. These weavers would oftentimes include designs that speak of their way of life having a family of farmers.
One can argue on the differences between the Ilocano and Cordillera province textile. Each type of textile has its distinct characteristic. However, the two regions share the same belief of showcasing their daily life through intricate textile design.
