I don't think it matters. I've seen weddings where female ushers or groomswomen wore the same dress as the bridesmaids, but in black, to match the guys' tuxes.
If you are having an accent color, and the bridesmaids are wearing, say, blue, and you're accenting with silver, you could have the female sher wear a different dress in the same shade of blue, or have her wear silver/gray to coordinate with the wedding, but still be different.
Ultimately, though, it really doesn't matter ... if there's something that you (or the bride/groom) have a preference for, go with it.
Female Usher Wedding
My cousin had two male and two FEMALE Ushers. The "Ladie Ushers" wore these GREAT dresses that my cousin had found at "DEB'S" at the mall. The top part was white and had a shirt colar and bow tie. The skirt was long and black. They Looked elegant and gorgeous and were not confused with bridesmaids.
Well, usually the ushers are male. You could see what color the ushers are wearing and then get a suit in the same color that has a feminine flair.
You just wear a pretty dress - something NOT the colors of the wedding.
I wouldn't say it really matters. Maybe a nice formal black dress to match the tuxes/suits of the male ushers?
I would have her wear a nice dark suit like the other ushers will be wearing.
Whatever you feel the preferred in would let him observe that you're calm and positive, and that is a start for guys
It really will depend on the weather for me. Within the fall I love to wear longer skirts and in the winter I wear longer ones with my boots, however in the spring and summer I favor to wear short summer dresses.
