A Day in the Country, a realistic short story about the wonders of nature and sincere friendship, was published on May 19, 1886 by Anton Chekhov, a Russian short story writer. Terenty, He's happy to share his knowledge and time with the two orphans, the kids adore him. The two kids retire to an abandoned barn after spending the day with Terenty, while Terenty visits the tavern. Terenty's genuineness to the two orphaned children also mentioned by Chekhov. Terenty returns later and places bread under their heads while they sleep, in the hopes of making Fyokla's and Danilka's life easier.
