The periodic table is a tabular display of chemical elements, arranged by atomic number, electron arrangement, and recurring chemical properties. The table structure reflects seasonal trends. The seven rows of the table, called stages, generally have metals on the left and not metals on the right. The columns, called groups, contain elements with similar chemical behavior.
