Answer:
Hazard is a situation or thing that has the potential to harm a person. Examples given include such things as working at heights, noise, mobile plan and even workplace bullying.
Risk is the possibility that harm (death, injury or illness) might occur when exposed to the hazard.
Risk Control means taking action to eliminate health and safety risks so far as is reasonably practicable, and if that is not possible, minimising the risks so far as is reasonably practicable. Eliminating a hazard will also eliminate any risks associated with that hazard.
By identifying the hazards, assessing the risks involved and then controlling or eliminating these risks, the consequences and/or likelihood of illness, injury and death are reduced. However, risk management does not stop here.
