I have had a cough for a few days now, but today it is worse and at school my lower stomach started hurting every time I coughed (so I tried not to but that failed). Someone told me it might be abdominal pain or a cyst, but I do not know. Also I was wondering if it might have to do with my irritable bowel syndrome?
Update:it doesn't matter how hard or soft i cough..it hurts all the same. but if my cough is bigger it hurts more. very sharp

Well your stomach is on the upper left side of your body so if the pain is there is could be from the pressure of coughing, but it could be something else.you should see a doc. if your coughing hard, if its a little couch you might want to be concerned. now your intestines are around your belly button area so if the pain is more in that area it could be irritable bowel syndrome. it all just depends on where exactly it hurts, and how bad it hurts. I'm sure your fine if you made it through a day of school so just see your doctor for that couch especially. feel better :)

Eat all the yogurt you can eat for a day or 2. You have to have a bacteria in your colon and diarrhea usually removes that bacteria so the diarrhea continues. Eating yogurt with the live culture bacteria will put the bacteria back into your colon and the diarrhea should stop. Your stomach is hurting because your colon is going into spasms because you have had diarrhea so long. A hot water bottle on the stomach will help the spasms and take some pain relievers like Tylenol or Advil. Aspirin works best for me but I don't know how old you are. If you are 18-20 you can take aspirin but children and young teens can't because of Reyes Syndrome so take the pain reliever appropriate for your age.
Well first off you may just be having muscle cramps because your coughs are going to clench your lower stomach. I wouldn't be concerned with serious things like a cyst, trust me. You would have noticed that before now. I get this a lot after I've worked out in the past week, and I laugh or cough. Don't worry, you'll be fine. But if it doesn't go away after you short sickness, just talk to your parents, they'll let you know if its something to worry about.
