Answer:
For me, I would still enroll in the works and writings of Jose Rizal even if it is no longer mandatory. He is our national hero so it is better to get to know him more so that we could find out why he was chosen as our national hero. It is important to learn about his childhood, his family, education, travels, love life, and his contributions to society when he was still alive. It is but proper to understand where his poems, anecdotes, and novels are coming from. As for me, I really like to have knowledge about the Spanish era. I believe that it was reflected in all his writings, so I am excited about that. I would also like to find out if indeed he was worthy to be elected as the Philippine National Hero and that his death was also worth the price.
