Self Reflection in the Year of the Pandemic
I have felt very different things since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic which has spread throughout the world. Not a few who already have extraordinary plans that they have set in early 2020 but are hindered by this incident. But that doesn't mean there are no resolutions that hold me back from becoming a better person.
Many activities have been delayed and canceled those year, requiring us to be adaptive in order to survive. At the beginning of the year when the plague began to spread, the whole world could feel it. Starting from various business sectors that have been affected by the decline in profits, hoaxes and invalid articles that are scattered, panic due to increasing fears of being exposed to the virus, and much more.
The real difference began to be felt when large-scale social restrictions were enacted, face-to-face activities were replaced with online meetings and mass field activities were not allowed to be held. What we used to think was unusual at that time we had to do it every day.
Reflections on my experiences and actions after the COVID-19 pandemic:
1. Write down what I have achieved
The achievements referred to here are not only limited to formal achievements, but can also be with new abilities that you learn during the pandemic. By knowing what has been achieved, we can re-map what we need again in the future to achieve short-term and long-term goals.
2. Evaluate the thing or environment that is holding you back
Sometimes, we will be hindered by various things when trying to achieve something. And it could even be, what we think is good turns out to be a big wall in the middle of life's path. It could be because you hang out with friends too often, the time to learn something new is lost, or you are too focused on work, so that the goal of making your parents happy is forgotten. Filter back what habits are negative sentiments in your life, and reduce them slowly.
3. Asking for an assessment from the closest person
Each person has a blind spot in him that only others can find. Ask the people closest to you what has changed, ask them to be honest, because sugarcoating is not going to help you get better. Re-validate what your friends say, by sharing with other closest people, or doing self reflection.
