Since f(x)=(2x3)/3 , we see that f(x+2)=(2(x+2)3)/3
(I simply replaced x by x+2 in the second equation).
Next, since f(x+2)=18 by assumption, we can conclude that:
(2(x+2)3)/3=18
Now, it’s just an algebra question.
Since this is likely to be a homework question, I will leave it there. However, you should be able to use that least equation to find the correct value for x. One last hint: the resulting value will be a simple integer answer.

There’s actually more than one answer to this question, if you allow for x to be a complex number. In fact, there are three answers total (since there is a cube-root), but two of the answers are complex numbers instead of real numbers.
